Angela Akins Gracia developed a love of sports when she was when she was a child and eventually decided to play golf. She took several golf lessons in order to develop an effective, but relaxed swing. As she grew more skilled, she got older, and was able to win more than eight championships as she was in high school. During her days as the captain of the Mable Falls high school's golf team Garcia was able to lead her team to the 3rd spot in the regional 2003 tournament, and then they finished with a sixth-place finish in the 2006 competition. It's no secret that she is adept at playing the game. She has won more than 17 gold medals on the national level and is a member of The Women's Golf Association of Texas. Garcia began her golf studies in Texas Christain University, where she spent two years studying before switching to University of Texas. At the University, she had the opportunity to play on a bigger level and she honed her skills with time. Angela Akin Garcia found great satisfaction as a golfer. But, she had no intention of becoming a professional. So after graduating from the University, she was offered a position as a reporter on Fox Sports Southwest.
